Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible candidates must hold a college degree with strong academic performance and some science coursework, including two semesters each of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The ideal candidate has experience working with middle or high school youth and have a passion for education. We are looking for people with a growth mindset, a strong desire to learn, strong social and communication skills, and adaptability.

How do you apply?

Applicants should send a resume and cover letter via email to scienceinsociety@northwestern.edu). The subject line of the email should read “Application 2018 Science Education Fellow".

When is the application due?

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning May 1, 2018. Applications received by May 1 will be given full consideration.

What happens after I apply?

Strong candidates will be contacted for a phone interview in early May, 2018 with Science in Society staff. Further details on the hiring process will be provided during this interview. Please direct any questions to scienceinsociety@northwestern.edu.

Are you a Chicago student or parent interested in our youth program?

Youth recruitment occurs each Fall. We are looking for Chicago Public School students with an 8th grade GPA between 2.5-3.5. Eligible students must be enrolled as 9th grade students at Mather High School and be in the AVID program. Specific questions should be directed to scienceinsociety@northwestern.edu.
